Tottenham star revels in beating Liverpool pair to award

Lucas Moura was “so happy” to become only the fourth Brazilian to win the Premier League Player of the Month award.
Moura has started the season in fine form, finally establishing himself in the first team after a full pre-season under Mauricio Pochettino – and helped increase the chances of a Premier League title.
The forward moved to north London in January and initially struggled to acclimatise, but has three goals in his first four matches this season.
He pipped Liverpool pair Sadio Mane and Virgil van Dijk to the first Premier League award of the season, as well as Chelsea left-back Marcos Alonso, Watford star Roberto Pereyra, Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy and Cardiff keeper Neil Etheridge.
“I’m so happy because I know it’s not easy to win this trophy and August was a great month for me and also for the team,” Lucas told Tottenham’s official website.
“I share this with my team mates and with my family and I’ll keep working because this is only the beginning.
“We have a lot more in front of us and so I need to keep working and doing my best.”
