Tottenham will allow Moussa Sissoko to secure a move abroad this summer, according to reports.

The 31-year-old has spent five years at Tottenham after joining from Newcastle for a £31.5million fee.

He’s featured 202 times for the club and helped them to reach the Champions League final back in 2019.

Football Insider say that Sissoko will be nothing more than a fringe player under Nuno Espirito Santo during the upcoming campaign.

As a result, Tottenham have said he can leave if a suitable offer comes in.

Talks have already begun over his sale, although his next destination is not yet known.

Sissoko will become the latest Spurs player to be sold as part of Santo and Fabio Paratici’s squad overhaul.

Ageing players such as Danny Rose, Toby Alderweireld and Joe Hart have already left north London.

Erik Lamela moved to Sevilla as part of a player-plus-cash deal for Bryan Gil, while Juan Foyth was sold to Villarreal for £13million.

Sissoko was used regularly by Jose Mourinho before his sacking in April.

The France international made 25 Premier League appearances as Spurs finished seventh in the table.

He also played eight times in the Europa League before their surprise defeat to Dinamo Zagreb in the last 16.

Mislav Orsic scored a stunning hat-trick in the second leg to make it 3-2 on aggregate.

Sissoko is yet to win a major honour during his career.

Back in June, he admitted that Spurs had ‘failed’ talisman Harry Kane with their trophyless run.

When asked about the transfer saga surrounding Kane, Sissoko told Foot Mercato: “He did not officially say that he wanted to leave the club.

“Harry is one of, today, the best attackers in the world. Each year, he finishes as the top scorer in the Premier League or is amongst the best goalscorers in the league.

“He executed an exceptional year because he finished as top scorer and top assister in the Premier League. Like all players, he wants to win titles. A player of his stature deserves to win titles each season.

“Sadly, we have failed to do so each time for various reasons. I think that this must irk him inside.”
