Tottenham v Hearts preview

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp will assess Luka Modric’s minor hamstring injury before deciding whether to give the unsettled Croatian his first appearance of the season.
After hammering the Scots 5-0 in the Europa League play-off first leg last week, Redknapp is likely to rest several first-team players and youngsters Tom Carroll and Harry Kane will make their debuts.
Steven Pienaar (groin), Wilson Palacios (knee), Jermaine Jenas (Achilles), Ledley King (knee), Alan Hutton (knee), William Gallas (calf) and Sandro (knee) are all unavailable.
Hearts manager Paulo Sergio will make eight changes from the team that lost 5-0 to Tottenham.
The Portuguese revealed his starting line-up this evening, with Jamie MacDonald, Ryan McGowan, Marius Zaliukas, Eggert Jonsson, Scott Robinson, Arvydas Novikovas, Rudi Skacel and Gordon Smith all coming in after missing last week’s encounter at Tynecastle.
Kevin Kyle (hip) misses out and Stephen Elliot was left in Edinburgh, with Sergio having one eye on Sunday’s derby against Hibs.
