Spurs boss Harry Redknapp will rest the vast majority of his first team in against Rovers but still intends to field a side containing “seven or eight” internationals.
Aaron Lennon will play after overcoming a groin problem, Danny Rose is back to full fitness following an ankle injury lay-off and Redknapp also hopes Roman Pavlyuchenko (hamstring) and Steven Pienaar (groin) will play some part.
Giovani dos Santos, Andros Townsend, Jake Livermore and Tom Carroll are likely to figure but Michael Dawson (Achilles), William Gallas (calf) and Tom Huddlestone (ankle) are out.
Shamrock manager Michael O’Neill will give goalkeeper Ryan Thompson every chance to prove his fitness ahead of the game.
Thompson has been first choice for O’Neill during their earlier European encounters but he insisted the form of Richard Brush, the other goalkeeper on the Hoops’ books, means even if Thompson does not make it he will have a more-than-able deputy.
Craig Sives has also been passed fit to play after groin trouble and the majority of the squad is available with only striker Gary O’Neill ruled out with a thigh injury.
