Kyle Walker has played down reports of conflict in the England squad, suggesting a recent exchange between him and Eric Dier was “friendly banter”.
The two former teammates were involved in a light-hearted exchange on Thursday during an Instagram live video posted by Dele Alli.
During the video, Dier called his former Tottenham teammate Walker, who departed the club for Manchester City this summer, a “traitor”.
Walker responded in kind, pointing out that Dier avoided the same treatment when it was claimed he wanted to move to Manchester United this summer.
Kyle Walker responded with “no-one called you (Dier) a traitor when you wanted to go to United.” All got a bit saucy. #THFC

In an England press conference on Thursday evening, Walker laughed off the comments.
“It’s just a bit of friendly banter,” he said. “I think it’s been took a bit too far, me, Del, Harry [Kane], Eric, we’re all very close. I’ve know them for a good six, seven years now.
“It’s all just a bit of friendly banter I wouldn’t read too much into it.”
Asked if Dier called him a traitor, Walker replied with a laugh: “Yeah, it’s just kind of one of them things that you just have a bit of fun about.
“You know, me and Eric have a good relationship on and off the field.
“We have banter together and I take it, he takes it. That’s just about it, really.”
