Gossip: Arsenal turn to Real striker, Newcastle eye Dele

Having been blown out by Dusan Vlahovic, Arsenal could ask a Real Madrid flop to see them through to the end of the season…

ARSENAL EYE REAL LOAN DEAL
It would appear that Arsenal will have to look elsewhere for a striker after they were custard-pied by Dusan Vlahovic.

It was reported yesterday that Juventus had submitted an offer for the Fiorentina forward, and though it was some way below their valuation, it is being claimed in Italy that Vlahovic has told his club that he wants to join Juve.

So where does that leave Arsenal? They have six days to source a goalscorer…

The Evening Standard says the Gunners are considering moves for Real Sociedad’s Alexander Isak, Lille’s Jonathan David and Everton centre-forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

The Express says Arsenal will have to cough up £70million to meet Isak’s release clause, while the Daily Star suggests a deal this month for Calvert-Lewin would have to wait until the summer.

So The Sun reckons Arsenal are keen on Luka Jovic. The Serbia striker has had a miserable time at Real Madrid, where he has made only one start all season across La Liga and the Champions League.

Apparently, Arsenal could bring in Jovic on loan until the end of the season before moving for a permanent striker.

NEWCASTLE MOVE FOR SPURS, BRIGHTON MIDFIELDERS
Arsenal have plenty to do before the deadline but not as much as Newcastle…

Eddie Howe is trying to strengthen almost every area of his squad but the Toon have hit a brick wall with most of their targets as clubs whack a Toon premium on the price of their players.

Dele Alli might be slightly more attainable since Tottenham clearly have little intention of playing the former England attacker. The Telegraph says Newcastle are keen to sign Alli on loan for the rest of the season.

The Mirror says Newcastle have a similar plan for Jesse Lingard. The Magpies failed in their opening offer for the Manchester United forward but apparently they aren’t finished yet.

The same story suggests Newcastle are also making moves for Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma. Villa were also in for Bissouma but it is claimed they have turned their focus towards Juve’s Rodrigo Bentancur.

NICE MOVE FOR LINGARD
There is another possible obstacle for Newcastle in their pursuit of Lingard…

Foot Mercato in France suggests Nice are interested. Nice are owned by Jim Ratcliffe, Britain’s richest man, and what’s the point in having all that money if it won’t buy you a 29-year-old Man Utd cast-off?

Nice have previous for signing United attackers, having taken Angel Gomes when the youngster walked out of Old Trafford at the end of his contract.

MAN UTD WATCHING PORTO STAR
With Anthony Martial seemingly Sevilla-bound, Man Utd are being linked with Porto winger Luis Diaz.

O Jogo says United were watching the 25-year-old in action at the weekend – but they have competition.

Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid are also tracking Diaz, who has netted 14 goals in 18 games so far this season.
