Arsenal could land Sergej Milinkovic-Savic for less than half the price Man Utd were once quoted, while the Red Devils have a clear run at Denzel Dumfries…
ARSENAL LINKED WITH LAZIO STAR
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has been linked with Manchester United for what feels like the last 427 years. But it seems Arsenal are now sniffing around the Lazio midfielder.
That’s the word according to Corriere dello Sport, which says the Serbia star has caught the eye of Mikel Arteta. The Arsenal boss’s primary midfield target remains Leicester’s Youri Tielemans but if Granit Xhaka is tempted to Roma, then the Gunners will need another recruit to staff their engine room.
Lazio, apparently, hope to fetch £55million for the 27-year-old but since he’s out of contract next year, the Italians are expected to accept offers as low as £42million.
UNITED, CHELSEA EYE REAL FULL-BACK
There’s little on the grapevine over United’s own pursuit of midfielders, but they could be making inroads with full-backs…
Fichajes says Ferland Mendy is a target for the Red Devils after AS reported this weekend that Real Madrid would be open to selling the 27-year-old. With Antonio Rudiger arriving, David Alaba is expected to be shunted to left-back, pushing Mendy out of the XI.
Real would look to recoup the bulk of the £42million they spent on the former Lyon defender in 2019, with Chelsea also said to be interested.
HOLLAND DEFENDER FANCIES OLD TRAFFORD MOVE
United’s need is arguably greater at right-back, where Aaron Wan-Bissaka has flopped and Diogo Dalot has failed to convince anyone that he’s genuine long-term replacement.
The Red Devils were linked last week with a move for Denzel Dumfries, for whom Inter Milan are open to offers despite only signing the Holland defender last summer.
The Daily Mail reckons Dumfries fancies a move to Old Trafford due to Erik ten Hag’s presence, while Inter would demand double the £13million they paid PSV a year ago.
INTER REJECT SKRINIAR OFFER
Wholesale changes are expected at Inter this summer, with Milan Skriniar set to be sold to part-fund a summer of strengthening while balancing the books.
Chelsea have been heavily linked with the Slovakia centre-back but PSG are also keen. So much so, they’ve made their opening offer…
Gazzetta dello Sport says Inter have turned their noses up at the Parisians’ first bid of £34.1million – but the Nerazzurri would be willing to sell Skriniar if anyone stumps up £51.2million.
