ARSENAL FAVOURITE TARGETED BY NAPOLI
Arsenal have never been particularly good at reading the room. But the replies to their tweet on Sunday night should leave the club in no doubt that the Emirates would probably burn if one of Monday’s rumours becomes reality…

According to The Telegraph, the appreciation for Kieran Tierney stretches all the way to Italy, where Napoli have made the Scotland defender a target.

Apparently, the Serie A side will wait until the summer before making a move for Tierney, who was the only good thing about the Gunners for much of the season before they became good again.

Napoli were in for Tierney when he moved to the Emirates at the start of the season but their chance was surely then. Not even Arsenal would be so daft as to sell him now.

VALENCIA EYE ARSENAL TARGET, SPURS MIDFIELDER
The Gunners have been linked with a move for Emi Buendia. But they have competition…

La Razon says Valencia are also keen on the Norwich midfielder, who is reported to be towards the top of Mikel Arteta’s list of targets.

Arteta has met resistance from the Canaries, who are resisting any moves for their best players this month as they seek an immediate return to the Premier League.

Valencia are hardly flush for cash either and given Buendia would cost in the region of £40million, Los Che seem unlikely suitors.

A loan move for Harry Winks might be a more realistic pursuit for Valencia this month. The Daily Mail says Tottenham have rejected their initial advances but the Spaniards are expected to return with another offer.

MAN UTD ADMIRE BREST STAR
Romain Faivre is enjoying a stellar season in Brest’s midfield. So much so, Manchester United and PSG are said to be keen on the 22-year-old.

Faivre only joined Brest in the summer from Monaco for around £450,000 but his form has already seen the Ligue 1 side extend his contract to 2025. The 22-year-old has scored four goals and offered three assists in 19 appearances after being sold by Monaco.

Now, according to Le10 Sport, United and PSG are eyeing the central midfielder.

Mauricio Pochettino got a close look at Faivre on Saturday night during his first win as PSG coach when Brest were beaten at the Parc des Princes.

NEWCASTLE’S WILLIAMS WOE
For Newcastle fans, there’s good news and bad news.

The good news: the Toon remain in the race to borrow Fikayo Tomori this month. Frank Lampard admitted yesterday that the centre-back could leave Chelsea on loan in the coming weeks and Newcastle are firmly in the hunt, according to football.London.

The Magpies’ pursuit of Brandon Williams, though, appears doomed to fail. The Northern Echo says Steve Bruce has admitted defeat in his pursuit of the versatile Manchester United defender, who Ole Gunnar Solskjaer feels would be useful to keep around, especially as a back-up option at right-back.
