Arsenal are the club most likely to tempt Brighton into selling Moises Caicedo in the next week, while Man Utd are linked with £140million worth of Serie A talent…
ARSENAL SET TO GO BIG FOR BRIGHTON STAR
With less than five days to go in the January transfer window, we wait to see if any club makes Brighton an offer they can’t refuse…
Chelsea and Liverpool are keen on Moises Caicedo, with both mid-table sides crying out for reinforcements in central midfield. But the latest report suggests Arsenal might make a decisive move before next Tuesday night.
Apparently, the Gunners will make an offer in the region of £75million for the Ecuador star. That’s the word according to Fichajes at least. Brighton don’t want to sell mid-season but a huge offer like that might tempt even Tony Bloom, despite reports suggesting the Seagulls have made it known that they would only sell now for something closer to £100million.
INTER DEFENDER IN TALKS WITH MAN UTD, CHELSEA, NEWCASTLE
Manchester United aren’t likely to do much in the coming days. Their focus already seems to be on the summer window – more in that below – but it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that they could move for a right-back before the deadline.
The Red Devils have held a long-standing interest in Denzel Dumfries and, according to Calciomercato, the Netherlands defender’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, has flown to England to discuss deals.
United aren’t the only club chatting with Pimenta. Newcastle are also said to be keen, even though Kieran Trippier is firmly established as first-choice right-back on Tyneside, while Chelsea have also been linked with Dumfries. But they remain most keen on Lyon teenager Malo Gusto.
If Dumfries is to move before the end of the current window, Inter Milan are said to be expecting a fee in the region of £35million.
UNITED REMAIN KEEN ON NAPOLI HIT-MAN
United are perhaps more likely to make do with what they’ve got through the rest of the season while the Glazers wait for someone to buy the club. Regardless, the Red Devils are being linked with summer swoops for centre-forwards.
High on their list of targets remains Victor Osimhen. It was said in recent days that United had cooled their interest in the 23-year-old, but Gianluca Di Marzio reckons Erik ten Hag still wants the striker.
Napoli are likely to be open to offers – big ones – for Osimhen in the summer and United are said to be willing to cough up a record sum in the region of £105million for the 23-year-old. They aren’t the only club keen on Osimhen. Real Madrid are also known to be sniffing.
