Bayern Munich want Cristiano Ronaldo to replace Robert Lewandowski if the Poland goal-machine moves to Barcelona. Also: Man Utd’s second Frenkie De Jong bid is imminent…

BAYERN TO BID FOR RONALDO
Cristiano Ronaldo is every Manchester United fan right now. Only he doesn’t have to stick around and watch the club continue its descent into the depths of mediocrity.

Apparently, Ronaldo is concerned over United’s transfer business under Erik ten Hag, or lack thereof. So much so, Record says the 37-year-old is considering quitting the club this summer.

Coincidently, Ronaldo could have a tempting escape route out of Old Trafford if he wants one. AS reckons Bayern Munich are ready for move for the Portugal star…

BARCA MAKE FIRST MOVE FOR LEWANDOWSKI
Bayern’s move, we assume, hinges on Robert Lewandowski’s future. Which could be at Barcelona.

We all know Barca want the Poland goal-machine but doubts persist over whether they have the means. The Catalans have sought to reassure everyone, especially Lewandowski, that they are serious by submitting an official offer for the 33-year-old, who has just a year left on his contract at Bayern.

The Telegraph reckons that offer is worth up to just over £34million. Barca would cough up £30million up front with another £4.3million due in add-ons. Basically, Barca have offered Bayern their Sadio Mane money back.

CAVANI WAITS AS BARCA’S ALTERNATIVE
One player watching Barca’s pursuit of Lewandowski very closely is Edinson Cavani…

Fichajes reckons Barca are back on the trail of the Uruguay striker, who is a free agent after leaving Man Utd, officially at least, at the end of the season. Mentally, he left sometime in the winter.

For now, Cavani is sitting tight – something he did for most of last season – since he seems to be their first alternative if Lewandowski can’t be bought from Bayern.

MAN UTD PREPPING ANOTHER DE JONG OFFER
Barca could fund the Lewandowski deal and a few others by selling Frenkie De Jong to United. So the Catalans are motivated to eke every last euro they possibly can from the Red Devils.

United are understood to have failed with one offer of £51.6million because Barca, quite reasonably, don’t want to make a loss on a player they signed for £65million.

Indeed, the Manchester Evening News says United are readying a second bid, with Barca having made it clear they want £75million guaranteed, with add-ons as well.

Apparently, United are ‘negotiating hard’ because they don’t want the De Jong fee to affect their ability to strengthen elsewhere. In other news, the Glazers are set to pay themselves £11million in dividends today.
