Liverpool still fancy their chances of signing Declan Rice despite reports of the midfielder’s preference for Arsenal, while Man Utd have told a Chelsea target to wait for them to get their sh*t together…
LIVERPOOL REMAIN IN RICE RACE
Everything’s coming up Arsenal right now. They’re top of the league and among the top five best Premier League teams through the first half of any season. Amid all that, they’re even getting a jump on the their summer transfer business…
It was widely reported last week that Declan Rice fancies a move to the Emirates, with Arsenal lining up an £80million deal for the England midfielder. But Rice’s other suitors haven’t given up hope just yet.
GiveMeSport reckons Liverpool are getting their ducks in a row to move for the West Ham star this summer, with Chelsea also sniffing, despite their intention to buy a midfielder in the coming week or so.
REDS, REAL EYE JUVE STAR
Liverpool are also making plans for another attacker, with succession plans for Mo Salah in mind.
According to Calciomercato, the Reds are weighing up a move for Federico Chiesa amid Juventus’s current financial and legal strife. The Old Lady has been striped of 15 points, which leaves them 10th in Serie A and 14 points off the Champions League spots.
Apparently, Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of Chiesa, who could be available for around £53million in the summer. But Liverpool are not the only vulture circling the Allianz Stadium. Fichajes says Real Madrid also fancy their chances of nabbing Chiesa.
MAN UTD RIVAL CHELSEA FOR LYON DEFENDER
It is set to be a big week at Chelsea while the Blues chase a midfielder and a right-back, before they get to the business of shifting some of the players Graham Potter doesn’t need.
The Blues are making inroads towards signing defender Malo Gusto to provide competition for Reece James, with it being reported in recent days that personal terms have been agreed with the 19-year-old. But Lyon aren’t being as accommodating as the player’s representatives. The Ligue 1 club are looking for a bigger fee to tempt them into giving up Gusto mid-season.
While Chelsea consider their options, Manchester United are lurking. RMC Sport says the Red Devils are equally keen to land Gusto and they have told the teenager not to rush anything while they wait for some crumbs to fall from the Glazers’ trough.
