Transfer gossip: Liverpool, Man Utd among six in for Fulham star, Reds eye Juve striker

Manchester United and Liverpool are among six Premier League clubs eyeing up a £60million-rated Fulham midfielder, while the Reds are linked with Dusan Vlahovic…

FULHAM COULD NET HEFTY PALHINHA PROFIT
It should come as no surprise to learn that almost all of the big boys are currently eyeing up Joao Palhinha…

The Fulham star has made the Premier League look a piece of p*ss since he arrived from Sporting Lisbon in the summer – no midfielder in Europe’s big five leagues has made more tackles.

The Sun says Palhinha’s quality hasn’t gone unnoticed by Manchester United, with Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal and Newcastle also monitoring the Portugal international. Fulham paid £17million and with four years still left on the contract he signed upon moving to Craven Cottage, they are expected to demand around £40million, which still seems decent value.

Liverpool are also mentioned as potential suitors but the Daily Mail goes harder on Liverpool’s interest, perhaps with a more likely valuation given the queue that seems to be forming. They suggest Palhinha will cost £60million, with the Reds leading the chase as they seek to rebuild their midfield.

LIVERPOOL LINKED WITH VLAHOVIC, ASENSIO
Jurgen Klopp’s priority – the gaping void in the centre of his team – is clear this summer, but that doesn’t appear likely to stop him from from indulging in a forward or two, especially with Roberto Firmino on his way.

According to Calciomercatoweb, Liverpool are keen on the idea of signing Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus. The Serbia star is said to have itchy feet already, with Champions League qualification unlikely next season, unless they win the Europa League.

The problem for Liverpool, or any other Premier League club keen on Vlahovic, is that the centre-forward would prefer to join Real Madrid ahead of anyone else.

Real look set to lose Marco Asensio for nothing this summer, which Liverpool are keen to capitalise on, says Football Transfers.

Klopp badly wanted Asensio back in 2018 when they were prepared to offer big money for the Spain star. But with his contract expiring and no sign on the horizon of a renewal, the Reds could bag the 27-year-old for free.

CITY KEEN ON IN-FORM CHILWELL
Manchester City’s fondness for Ben Chilwell is nothing new. Pep Guardiola has been keen on the England left-back since his Leicester days. Even now, with Chilwell in fine form for Chelsea, City still fancy their chances of nabbing the defender.

That’s the story according to The Athletic, which states there is ‘genuine interest’ in the 26-year-old ahead of the summer transfer window.

Given his recent performances, you would think Chelsea would be reluctant to sell, but the Blues need to reduce the size of their squad and raise some funds for further strengthening. Chilwell won’t be the first to be shoved through the door, but with only two years remaining on his deal, he could find himself being ushered that way by Todd Boehly.
