Liverpool want Mbappe in a £350million deal, and United will have to pay more than that for Fati…
SANE + ? = MBAPPE
Sadio Mane is enjoying yet another wonderful season with Liverpool. He’s scored 14 Premier League goals and provided nine assists – he just keeps getting better. You would therefore assume there is not a chance the Reds would let the Senegal star leave.
But not according to The Sun, who fancied a bit of transfer scaremongering. The report states the ‘£150MILLION star STILL hasn’t signed his new deal with Real Madrid and PSG circling’.
It goes on to explain that Liverpool are on the verge of tying down Virgil Van Dijk to a new £250million contract that will run till 2025, but he is waiting to the end of the season to sign the deal. Which would suggest that the same is likely with the outstanding contracts of other star players – they’re just waiting until the end of the campaign to cross the t’s and dot the i’s – but that’s no fun. No, Mane is on his way.
But Liverpool wouldn’t be daft enough to allow Mane to leave without a replacement. And seeing as Paris Saint-Germain are one of the clubs reportedly in for Mane, why not propose a swap deal? And why not one for their best player? You guessed it, the report claims Liverpool want to swap Mane for Kylian Mbappe. Oh, and they’ll throw in £200million as a little sweetener.
That’s a £350million deal, or seven and a bit Timo Werners.
EVEN FATI-ER CHANCE
Manchester United wanted Ansu Fati, that much is clear. But the rumoured transfer fees are insane. They may have offered £89million, but probably didn’t up that to £135million, and almost certainly weren’t considering a £151million bid.
But if they were, they can save their breath, according to the Express. They report that United will now have to pay an utterly absurd £355million to Barcelona, to lure Fati to Old Trafford.
The boy is clearly very talented, and even to be playing alongside Lionel Messi and Luiz Suarez at 17 is remarkable. But despite that, he’s only scored six times in 26 appearances for the Catalan giants. £355million is a ludicrously expensive punt.
Inter Milan have made Kyle Walker their top summer transfer target, as Antonio Conte attempts to buy a right-back from each of the Premier League’s Big Six.
The Inter boss already has ex-Chelsea winger turned wing-back Victor Moses on his roster, along with former Red Devil, Ashley Young. And now he’s keen on tempting Walker from Manchester City, claims The Sun.
The report states that the England international could be persuaded to move to Serie A, hinting that relationships may be strained at the Etihad between Walker and Pep Guardiola after the full-back broke lockdown rules on more than one occasion.
Not that that prevented Guardiola playing Walker for the full 90 minutes in their 3-0 thumping of Arsenal on Wednesday.
Maybe Serge Aurier would be an easier target, or better yet Nathaniel Clyne. There are other Big Six right-backs available, Antonio.
