Gossip: Liverpool target £101m duo, Man Utd eye Arsenal starlet

LIVERPOOL LEAD WERNER RACE
Timo Werner looks all to be one of the hottest properties of the summer and it seems Liverpool are at the front of the queue.

Jurgen Klopp’s desire to sign the RB Leipzig striker is nothing new but Bild are this morning reinforcing the Reds’ interest. Indeed, it is claimed Liverpool were among a host of clubs to make an enquiry last month but the player had no intention of moving mid-season while Leipzig are involved in a title chase,while the 23-year-old’s release clause does not apply in the January window.

In the summer, however, Werner is available for £45-50million depending on Leipzig’s status come the end of the season. He has scored a lot of goals.

REDS AND REAL EYE INTER STAR
Liverpool are also said to be interested in Marcelo Brozovic.

The Croatia midfielder has been one of the driving forces behind Inter Milan’s title challenge this term and, according to TMW, his form has caught the attention of the Reds and Real Madrid. So too has the existence of a £51million release clause in his contract.

Brozovic will have two years remaining on his deal by the time the summer comes around, which may explain the emergence of Liverpool and Real Madrid as potential suitors.

MAN UTD AND LIVERPOOL AMONG SAKA SUITORS
Bukayo Saka is even closer to the end of his contract. The Arsenal youngster is only 18 months from becoming a free agent, which hasn’t escaped the attention of a host of big clubs.

The Daily Mail says Saka’s situation is being monitored by Liverpool, Manchester United and Bayern Munich, which will do his agent’s cause no while he discusses new terms for theversatile left-sider.
