Liverpool are getting closer to agreeing a summer deal, while Man Utd receive two proposals for players.

LIVERPOOL CLOSE IN ON WERNER
Liverpool are closing in on the signing of RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner, according to reports. Speculation has been rife that the Germany international will join Jurgen Klopp’s side this summer, despite some doubts about where he would fit into their starting XI.

The 24-year-old – who has been flirting with a potential transfer to Liverpool – has scored a remarkable 21 Bundesliga goals this season but is reported to have a release clause of just £51m in his contract. A tempting fee for any club looking to boost their goalscoring rates.

And now Italian reporter Nicole Schira claims that Liverpool are in ‘advanced talks’ with Werner over a deal to take him to Anfield in the next transfer window. The journalist adds that the Reds have offered a five-year contract worth €10m (including bonuses) to Klopp’s ‘first choice’ target with Liverpool still trying to ‘reach an agreement with’ Leipzig.

HUGE BID FOR MAN UTD STAR
Real Madrid are preparing to submit a ‘cut-price’ offer in an attempt to land Paul Pogba from Manchester United in the next transfer window, according to the Daily Express.

Pogba still seems likely to leave Man Utd this summer, with the club thus far opting not to activate the automatic one-year extension option in his contract. That means his deal will expire in 2021 as things stand, making a potential sale ever more likely.

There are four suitors for the Frenchman currently, including former club Juventus and Serie A rivals Inter Milan. But Real Madrid and PSG are better placed to afford a deal, either through money, player exchange or a combination of the two.

And now the Daily Express insists that Pogba has ‘made it clear’ that he wants a move to Real Madrid ‘before the start of next season’. Zinedine Zidane is ‘ready to take advantage’ of Pogba’s contract situation by submitting a £70m offer for the midfielder. The France international ‘has told United that he won’t be signing an extension no matter the terms on offer’.

PSG, meanwhile, are ‘ready to admit defeat in the race to sign’ the Man Utd man.

SURPRISING NEW SANCHEZ SUITORS
Roma are looking to keep Alexis Sanchez in Italy next campaign, according to reports in Italy.

Man Utd sent the Chilean out on loan to Inter Milan in the summer but he has been unable to establish himself under Antonio Conte due to injury. Sanchez will have two years remaining on his £300,000-a-week contract when he returns to Old Trafford, but it is expected that the club will do their best to offload him.

The Chilean netted just five times in 45 games for Man Utd, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claimed in January that Sanchez can prove his critics wrong if he is given a second chance next season.

However, Sky Sport (via Goal)claim another Serie A side Roma want to take advantage of their ‘good relations with Manchester United’ to bring Sanchez to Rome on loan. The ‘the Giallorossi leadership has returned to woo Alexis Sanchez’ and Roma will propose ‘a new loan for a player who also has major physical problems’.
