Transfer gossip: Man Utd must triple offer for Atletico forward, Liverpool eye France star

Man Utd and Atletico remain way off an agreement over a deal for Joao Felix, while Liverpool are linked with a France international who doesn’t play in midfield…

UNITED MUST UP FELIX OFFER
Manchester United are going to have to be even more ‘creative’ if they really want Joao Felix to solve their striker shortage…

The Red Devils are desperate to sign a new forward – well, Erik ten Hag is – but during the mid-season window, the board sees little value in the market. So United are damned to seeking a short-term solution to a rather longer-term problem.

Felix was on their radar during the summer but that was when Diego Simeone still fancied the Portugal star. Since then, the 23-year-old has struggled to get into the Atletico Madrid side and the Spanish club are now open to offers, both permanent and temporary.

But they are not so keen to be rid of Felix that they would consider United’s current offer. According to Relevo, the Red Devils are prepared to give Atletico £3.5million to borrow Felix for the rest of the season. But Atletico want at least £10.5million if they are to lend out their record signing.

CAICEDO ON CHELSEA RADAR
Chelsea have also been linked with Felix but, right now, they’re busy not signing Enzo Fernandez.

If the Blues fail to reach an agreement with Benfica which, right now, would probably mean paying the Argentina midfielder’s release clause in full, then they will have to pursue other targets. And CBS scribe Ben Jacobs insists Moises Caicedo remains very much on their radar for 2023, though it isn’t clear in which window Graham Potter intends to raid his old club for the Ecuadorian.

Caicedo might have to wait until the summer, especially if Chelsea are as determined to outbid Arsenal for Mykhailo Mudryk as The Independent claims. The Ukraine winger, apparently, prefers the idea of moving to the Emirates but with the Gunners’ second bid of around £62million some way off Shakhtar’s valuation, and Chelsea making it clear they will trump any offer Arsenal put on the table, Mudryk may have to reconsider his options.

LIVERPOOL FOLLOWING FRANCE FORWARD
Liverpool need a midfielder. So, obviously, they’re being linked with another forward.

RMC Sport reckons the Reds are among a host of clubs monitoring Randal Kolo Muani. The Eintracht Frankfurt forward notched at the World Cup for France, following five goals and 10 assists in the Bundesliga prior to going to Qatar.

Apparently, the 24-year-old will cost at least £53million.
