Gossip: Juve prep Pogba move; Arsenal, Spurs eye ex-City defender

News Desk

The Gossip has the latest whisper on Paul Pogba’s future, while Arsenal and Tottenham are set to clash over an RB Leipzig defender…

JUVE MAKE POGBA A PRIORITY
We start the week with an update – of sorts – on Paul Pogba.

The Manchester United midfielder will tomorrow enter the final four months of his contract at Old Trafford and the impression being offered by his camp suggests he is yet to make a decision over a renewal.

Given he has spent most of the last four years trying to get away from United, it seems highly unlikely that he would commit to another stint with the Red Devils, and Calciomercato reckons he will indeed move on as a free agent.

The same report says Juventus want to re-sign the France star and the Old Lady has made Pogba their priority for the summer. But, as we know, they will either have to break their budget, or Pogba will probably have to take a pay-cut, something Mino Raiola is unlikely to stomach.

BARCA IN POLE FOR PREM TARGET
Pogba has been linked with Barcelona too, but it seems the Catalans are looking elsewhere for a freebie midfielder.

Sport reckons Barca are deep into talks with AC Milan’s Franck Kessie, who has been eyed by a number of Premier League clubs.

Apparently, Kessie and Barca have been talking for two months and a deal is getting closer.

A couple of other lines from the Nou Camp: the Daily Star says Barca will make an offer for Manchester United centre-back Eric Bailly, who may be reunited with Memphis Depay if the Holland forward digs his heels in.

Depay and Barca seemed set to part after only a year together but the ex-United flop is demanding to be allowed to leave for a nominal fee to increase his bargaining position over a new salary at his next club. If Barca refuse to play ball, El Nacional says Depay will simply refuse to leave and wait a yera until he becomes a free agent once more.

ARSENAL, SPURS FIGHT FOR FORMER CITY DEFENDER
Arsenal and Tottenham are preparing to lock horns over Angelino.

That’s the word according to Calciomercato, which claims the north London duo both want to bring the Spaniard back to the Premier League.

One minor obstacle for Arsenal and Spurs to overcome: if Angelino is to return to these shores, then Manchester City have first refusal. But the Premier League leaders would have to cough up £35million for a player who isn’t likely to be first choice, while that figure doesn’t offer much of a margin for a quick profit if City chose to flip the 25-year-old.

PALACE EYE EX-ARSENAL MIDFIELDER
One former Arsenal midfielder could also be heading back to the Premier League.

Dani Ceballos spent two years as a loanee at the Emirates before returning to Real Madrid last summer. Having failed to impress Carlo Ancelotti, Ceballos at least seems to have caught Patrick Vieira’s eye.

Fichajes reckons Crystal Palace are prepared to offer £15million for the 25-year-old, who will enter the final year of his Real contract before the start of next season.
