Man Utd are thinking about ending their pursuit of Jadon Sancho, while Arsenal eye a replacement for Alexandre Lacazette…

Manchester United are considering whether to pursue other targets after failing to strike an agreement with Borussia Dortmund for Jadon Sancho, according to reports. Dortmund are understood to be demanding a £108m fee from Man Utd if they want to make a deal happen this summer, a price that the Red Devils consider too high.

On Thursday Sky Sports claimed that the Red Devils have ‘made a breakthrough’ in negotiations with Sancho’s representatives over a possible deal. However, the Daily Star report today that Man Utd ‘are considering pulling the plug on their bid’ for the England international with the Premier League club becoming ‘increasingly frustrated’ over the lack of progress on a deal.

The report adds that ‘the two clubs continue to be at loggerheads over a fee’ with United valuing him at £80m, which is £28m less than what the Bundesliga outfit want for the 20-year-old. Ed Woodward ‘believes Dortmund are determined to hold his club to ransom and that the German outfit have been inconsistent in their attitude towards selling Sancho.’

The Daily Star add that if they do pull out of any deal for Sancho then Juventus’ Douglas Costs, Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix and Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale are all possible alternatives…

Arsenal have had a bid rejected for Odsonne Edouard as they look to line up a replacement for Alexandre Lacazette, according to a report.

Lacazette‘s future at the Emirates Stadium has come into question recently. With Arsenal set to announce a new contract for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, they may not be able to guarantee regular first team football to the Frenchman. And, with young strikers Gabriel Martinelli and Eddie Nketiah also showing promise this season, reports have suggested the Gunners could cash in on Lacazette.

And now The Transfer Window Podcast (via the Daily Express) claims that Arsenal are looking to bring in a new striker as they try and sell Lacazette this summer. The Gunners are looking to recoup £37m if they sell Lacazette with the likes of Juventus and Atletico Madrid interested.

If they do manage to sell Lacazette then the report claims they have the perfect replacement lined up in Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard. Arsenal tabled a £15m offer for the France under-21 international but they were knocked back by the Scottish champions. And now the Gunners have gone back with an improved offer of £20m plus another £2.5m in add-ons.
