A ‘firm offer’ for one of the Sancho alternatives, a swap deal for Aguero…
INTER AGUERO MILAN
Pep Guardiola will be on the look out for a centre-back partner for Aymeric Laporte this summer. Man City have been linked with a move for Kalidou Koulibaly, but Liverpool are expected to ‘lunge‘ for the Napoli man ‘in the coming days’.
Guardiola is also thought to be a fan of Milan Skriniar, who Inter Milan have previously said was ‘untransferable’. But that looks to have changed. The 25-year-old’s red card against Sassuolo on Wednesday ‘incensed’ the Nerazzurri hierarchy, who are now looking for potential buyers for the Slovakian.
And Inter Milan want Sergio Aguero in return, according to Calciomercato (via ESPN). City will be loathe to let their top scorer leave, but if his departure means they acquire a reliable centre-back to play alongside Laporte, it’s certainly worth considering.
MERSEYSIDE KAMARA BATTLE
But Le10 Sport (via Sports Lens) claim it’s City who are leading the race for Koulibaly, and Liverpool that must look elsewhere. And the champions (still weird) face a fight with their Merseyside rivals for 20-year-old centre-back Boubacar Kamara.
The Frenchman featured in 28 games for Marseille this season and can also play as a defensive midfielder or at left-back. The Ligue 1 club need to balance the books in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic and ‘won’t likely hesitate to cash in on Kamara’ should a suitable offer be made from either Everton or Liverpool.
The report doesn’t suggest an amount that could persuade Marseille to sell, but transfermarkt values the academy graduate at £24.3million.
A THIRD OF A SANCHO
Speculation over Jadon Sancho’s move to Manchester United rumbles on. The England international continues to ‘flirt’ with the Red Devils, who are happy to bide their time in the hope that Borussia Dortmund lower their £120million asking price.
The 20-year-old’s entourage have ‘been in contact’ with United for some time, after the winger’s relationship with Valencia has somewhat broken down in recent months after disagreements with the former manager.
Manchester City, Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Napoli are also thought to be interested in signing Torres, with the report claiming he will be sold to the ‘highest bidder’ this summer.
And that high bid will almost certainly be significantly less than any deal for Jadon Sancho, no matter how big a bidding war ensues, with £35million being touted as a starting point.
