Gossip: Pogba to pair up with ex-Man Utd star at PSG?

News Desk
Paul Pogba and Cristiano Ronaldo warm up before a Man Utd game.

Paul Pogba will take his sweet time to decide on offers including Man Utd’s renewal or a ‘lucrative homecoming’. But Cristiano Ronaldo won’t follow him to Paris…

POGBA IN NO HURRY WITH PSG OFFER INCOMING
It’s hard to fathom who would be dafter out of Manchester United and Paul Pogba if both parties decided to stay together beyond the end of the current season. But that’s the prospect still being considered, apparently…

Pogba has wanted out of Old Trafford since 2018 while United must have learned by now that nothing they do to appease the Frenchman and his agent will tease some consistent form out of him. Yet the club seems extremely reluctant to wave him off at the end of his contract.

Those terms expire in the summer and United are said to have left an offer on the table for Pogba and Mino Raiola to consider. The Daily Mail says the midfielder is content to do just that and that he is in no hurry to decide where he’ll play next season. If need be, he’ll wait until the summer to make his choice.

One of his options looks set to be a move to PSG. Juventus, Real Madrid and Barcelona are all monitoring Pogba’s situation, but that trio of clubs have their hands tied by their finances and priorities elsewhere. PSG, though, are reported to be ‘assembling a lucrative homecoming’ package to bring Pogba back to France.

RONALDO WON’T TEAM UP WITH MESSI
If Pogba moves to PSG, he won’t be followed by Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese megastar is said to be unhappy during his first season back at United and, apparently, he will discuss his future with Jorge Mendes in the coming weeks.

PSG have been linked with a move for the 37-year-old to link him up with Lionel Messi but AS insists no offer has been made and nor would it be.

DEPAY COULD REPLACE MBAPPE IN PARIS
But the Parisians could target another ex-United winger…

Memphis Depay looks set to leave Barcelona half way through the two-year deal he signed with Catalans upon joining from Lyon last summer. In which case, PSG are ready to make an offer.

That’s the word according to Fichajes, which says PSG view Depay as a replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who appears set to join Real Madrid.

ARSENAL.WEST HAM TO RIVAL VILLA FOR COUTINHO
Barca are also desperate to cash in on Philippe Coutinho in the summer, and they could take £33million off Aston Villa if Steven Gerrard exercises the club’s option to buy the on-loan Brazilian.

But Villa’s interest could be complicated by interest from elsewhere in the Premier League.

Fichajes says Arsenal are keen on the ex-Liverpool star, with West Ham also said to be sniffing.

JUVE TO BID FOR LIVERPOOL MIDFIELDER
It’s set to be a big summer for Liverpool if only for the renewals they have to consider.

Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane will all be entering the final year of their contracts at Anfield. As will Naby Keita.

The midfielder is unlikely to be as high among Liverpool’s priorities list as any of their front three but the Reds may have interest from Juventus to consider before they make the 27-year-old any offer.

Barcelona and Bayern Munich are thought to be keen on Keita but Calciomercato puts Juve in pole position, with the Old Lady said to be ready to make a £25million bid before he enters the last 12 months of his current deal.
