Transfer gossip: Real Madrid want Liverpool target Bellingham as part of £265m trio

Real Madrid have recently met with Jude Bellingham – but the Spaniards can’t break the bank for the Liverpool target if they also want Khvicha Kvaratskheila…

Liverpool’s optimism over signing Jude Bellingham seems to fluctuate in line with their results – which makes sense when you consider how loathe top players are to go even a single season without Champions League football. But last week’s growing belief over landing the England midfielder after their 7-0 battering of Manchester United has given way to more pessimism after the Reds phoned it in at Bournemouth on Saturday.

It doesn’t help that Real Madrid seem to be intensifying their efforts to land Bellingham. Indeed, according to AS, a Real representative was recently in Germany to visit the Borussia Dortmund star and his family to make clear that he is their priority this summer.

That may be true, however Real still appear some way off putting up the money that Dortmund will insist upon to part with the 19-year-old. Not unreasonably, the Germans reportedly want in the region of £133million to sell if the midfielder can’t be persuaded to stay for at least another year. But Sport says Real will only get near that figure by including add-ons. Apparently, they are willing to cough up £88million up front, with another £40million possibly due further down the line.

Bellingham may be their priority but Real aren’t stopping there this summer. Indeed, the ex-Birmingham youngster is one of three big names they hope to land for a total in the region of £265million.

That’s the claim from Fichajes, which reports that Real are also intent of taking Khvicha Kvaratskheila from Napoli. The Georgian has been in sensational form during his first season in Italy, playing a major role in putting Napoli 18 points clear at the top of Serie A. On Saturday, he did this to Atalanta…

On top of Kvaradonna and Bellingham, Real also want Joao Cancelo. So it is handy that Manchester City want rid and Bayern Munich seemingly have no intention of making their loan deal a permanent one.

Manchester United want Harry Kane in the summer – that is quite clear. But the Red Devils certainly aren’t counting their chickens…

ESPN says United are once again wary of dealing with Tottenham and they have no intention of chasing the England striker all the way through the summer only to get Levy-ed.

Erik ten Hag wants a centre-forward through the door in good time for the start of the new season so United are laying the groundwork too with other targets including Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic.
