Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has completely quashed speculation linking manager Thomas Tuchel with Arsenal.
Recent reports indicated that the Gunners had made an approach for the 43-year-old amid rumours that Arsene Wenger could leave the north London club at the end of the season.
Pressure has grown from a section of Arsenal supporters for Wenger to call time on his reign at the Emirates and let someone new try to deliver silverware.
However, according to Watzke, the man to potentially replace Wenger won’t be Tuchel as the clubs haven’t been in any discussions.
“It is a fact that nobody from Arsenal called us. We’re taking about completely fictional stuff here,” he said.
“Some day in May we will sit down and analyse this season. He is still under contract here for another year.
“That’s why I don’t understand all the speculation.”
