It feels like another United move that is never going to happen, but it doesn’t look like Louis van Gaal has given up on signing Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller.
According to Sport Bild in Germany, United have made an increased €85 million (£60m) offer for Muller. That comes on the heels of having a €70m bid rejected earlier this summer.
There were reports over the weekend that Muller was keen on a move to United, but they were in the Daily Express, so we took them with the biggest of salty pinches.
Bayern CEO Karl-Heinze Rummenigge has also insisted that Muller will not be leaving.
“I can calm all the worries of all Bayern supporters. We will not let another player leave for Manchester United,” was Rummenigge’s promise.
Given that there are reports suggesting Chelsea will hijack United’s chase of Barcelona’s Pedro, are United going to be left with nothing to open on Christmas Day morning?
