United deal complicated as Inter name Perisic in tour squad

Manchester United’s hopes of signing Ivan Perisic soon were dealt a blow after Inter Milan named the winger in their tour squad.

Inter fly out for a tour of Singapore and China on Tuesday, with United hoping to conclude a deal for the Croatian before then.

The Old Trafford outfit were reportedly close to agreeing a £44million fee for Perisic, who would become their third signing of the summer.

But the deal will now be complicated after Inter named the 28-year-old in their 28-man tour squad.

Jose Mourinho was asked about the situation on Tuesday, but offered little in terms of revelations.

“No idea. No idea my friend. No idea,” he replied when asked if a move was close to completion.

United are already one of the highest spending clubs in Europe this summer. Chuck in a £40m winger and only Milan will have spent more.
