Hirving Lozano has played down reports of a move to Manchester United, despite reportedly being on the verge of a move.
Pachuca, the Mexican winger’s club, confirmed last month that the Premier League champions had approached them over Lozano’s availability.
When asked about United’s interest last week, the winger said: “Of course the thought of playing for Manchester United excites me, and I need to give it my all.”
And Lozano’s father-in-law appeared to confirm the move was near completion when stating: “Yes. It’s all done, just missing some details and after the Olympics, the deal will become official.”
But the 20-year-old has now played down claims of his imminent move, and is simply concentrating on his future with Pachuca.
“It’s nice to hear people talk about a potential move to Manchester United, but it would have been better if it was actually a fact,” he told Mexican newspaper Record.
“I don’t know anything about United’s interest. If the club tell me anything, then we will see, but I don’t know anything about it at this stage.
“I am at Pachuca now and we will see what happens in the future.”
