Ex-Arsenal defender hails Gunners star who was ‘everywhere’

Matthew Upson claims Dani Ceballos was the best player on the pitch in Arsenal’s 3-2 win over Everton on Sunday.

It was a game full of drama from the first minute when Dominic Calvert-Lewin capitalised on a David Luiz mistake to give the Toffees the lead.

Goals from Eddie Nketiah and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang then gave the Gunners the advantage before Richarlison drew them level on the stroke of half time.

OPINION: Deeply flawed Arsenal are heading towards a proper recovery…

But Arsenal regained the lead immediately after the break as Aubameyang scored his second of the game to claim all three points.

And former Arsenal centre-back Upson, claimed Ceballos was “everywhere” during his 76 minutes on the pitch.

“Ceballos is looking like man of the match for me today,” Upson told BBC Sport. “He is everywhere on the pitch today. I think he is coming off because Arteta is looking at him like he has given his all.

“You can tell they have a good relationship already and that Arteta could really grow him as a player. It will be interesting to see if he will become a permanent player.”
