Valencia still considering Arsenal offer for Mustafi – report

Reports in Spain suggest Arsenal’s deal for Shkodran Mustafi is not quite as close to completion as expected.
Arsenal were believed to have agreed a £35million fee for the Mustafi, who the Gunners have chased for the past month in an attempt to solve their defensive injury crisis.
But according to local Valencia outlet Super Deporte, Arsenal are yet to activate the Germany international’s release clause, and are still considering the north Londoners’ latest offer.
The report suggests Arsenal’s opening offer was a mere €18million for a player whose release clause stood at €50million.
Arsenal have since gradually increased their offer for the 24-year-old and the transfer is still expected to go through before the end of the window.
Deportivo striker Lucas Perez, meanwhile, is set to join before the end of the week after Arsenal met the 27-year-old’s £17million release clause.
