Warnock on Ozil: ‘He can come and play me for me if he wants’

Cardiff manager Neil Warnock says he is not bothered if Mesut Ozil plays for Arsenal in their Premier League game on Sunday.

Ozil played no part in Arsenal’s first win under new manager Unai Emery against West Ham last weekend.

There were reports of a training ground bust-up between player and manager, but Emery said the Germany midfielder was missing from the team simply due to illness.

“I’m not too bothered (if Ozil plays), I’ve got enough worries,” Warnock said ahead of Arsenal’s trip to the Cardiff City Stadium.

“He can come and play me for me if he wants,” Warnock added on Ozil.

“When you’re a top international player like he is, someone who has seen and done it all, it’s only a matter of time before you click.

“I don’t think you worry about players at that level.”

Cardiff are without Nathaniel Mendez-Laing and Aron Gunnarsson as they seek to open their Premier League goals account, while Junior Hoilett is also a major doubt.
