Watford have set their sights on Denmark and Udinese right-back Jens Stryger Larsen, according to a report.

The 30-year-old has been in Italy since joining Udinese from Austria Vienna in August 2017.

He’s made 140 appearances for the club since then and helped them to finish 12th in Serie A in 2018/19.

Every Premier League club’s three longest-serving players

According to 90Min, Watford scouts view Larsen as a great signing to improve the squad ahead of their Premier League return.

The full-back put in some great displays as Denmark reached the semi-final of Euro 2020.

He was one of their top performers at the tournament, alongside the likes of Simon Kjaer, Kasper Dolberg and Kasper Schmeichel.

Larsen registered an assist during the Danes’ quarter-final win over the Czech Republic.

He swung in a dangerous cross which was headed home by Thomas Delaney from close range.

The Hornets want Larsen to compete with Kiko Femenia for a place in Xisco Munoz’s team.

Getting a deal over the line shouldn’t be too hard, either. Udinese are willing to sell Larsen in the next few months to make a significant profit on the player.

They originally signed him for just £450,000.

Watford have already done business with Udinese in recent years. Gerard Deulofeu left for Serie A in January after the club lost their Premier League status.

Signing Larsen would continue Watford’s exciting summer of recruitment. On Friday, they signed Joshua King on a two-year deal following his departure from Everton. They also announced the arrivals of Peter Etebo from Stoke and former Rangers man Dapo Mebude.

Larsen isn’t the only Denmark player to have caught the attention of Prem scouts at the Euros.

Sampdoria’s Mikkel Damsgaard has been linked with Tottenham and Everton in the last few days.

He opened the scoring in the semi-final at Wembley with a great free-kick from long distance.

Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero said the attacking midfielder’s price tag would rise to £34m if he scored against England.

“I’ll tell you it’s a fair price, today at least €30m (£27million). But if he scores again he will reach €40m (£34million),” he said.
