…just not necessarily at Arsenal.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that Premier League clubs will do a lot of business during this January transfer window, with many clubs underachieving.

Wenger was speaking before Arsenal’s trip to Liverpool on Wednesday evening, and spoke of Arsenal’s own January business. Mohamed Elneny’s arrival from Basel is likely to be announced in the next few days.

“I would say for the media you could have some good news this January transfer window as I believe many clubs will be active,” Wenger said.

“You go from the clubs down in the table to the top.

“My prediction is that it could be one of the most active January windows you have seen.”

The manager also gave an update on the fitness of Alexis Sanchez, and confirmed that Mesut Ozil would be fit to face Liverpool.

“Ozil and Flamini will be available,” Wenger said.

“Alexis is always keen to play but if you listen to him, he’s always keen to play even when injured.

“We try to be cautious, but with a muscular injury you never know how big the risk is.

“But he’s very very close.”
