Arsene Wenger ‘wishes he had 20 players like’ Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny.
Wenger signed Elneny for Arsenal from Basel in January 2016, and the midfielder soon became a favourite of the manager’s.
Wenger poured praise on Elneny in April after he inspired Arsenal to a Europa League victory over CSKA Moscow.
“He a super-popular player and everybody inside the club loves him,” he said. “But he’s not only loved, he is also a very good player and he showed that in Moscow.”
The Frenchman may have resigned as Arsenal manager in May, but he’s been telling former Tottenham striker Mido about how much he loves his countryman.
‘Today I asked Wenger about Elneny and his answer made me proud to be an Egyptian,’ Mido wrote on Twitter.
‘He told me that Elneny is loved by everyone, always smiling and he wishes he had 20 players like him!
‘If any team had 20 players like Elneny they will not even need a coach.
‘He is always close and available on the pitch which makes it much easier for the team to buildup in attack.’
