West Ham co-chairman David Gold says the club have an “unbreakable option” to sign reported Liverpool target Manuel Lanzini permanently.
Lanzini has been one of the revelations of the Premier League season so far after joining the Hammers on a season-long loan from Abu Dhabi-based club Al Jazira.
The Argentinean has three goals and one assist to his name in nine league games, and his form has attracted reported interest from Liverpool, against whom he scored earlier in the season.
Gold has responded to such claims via West Ham’s official website however, claiming the club will have first refusal on the 22-year-old.
“I know there have been some reports in the media over the weekend surrounding the future of Manuel Lanzini,” Gold said.
“We have an unbreakable option with both Lanzini and his club, so any other team’s interest is irrelevant.
“Manuel has been a fantastic signing for the club and we all hope he can maintain this superb run of form for the rest of the season.”
