West Ham are set to battle Bournemouth for the signing of Liverpool right-back Nathaniel Clyne this summer.

Clyne has been on loan at Bournemouth where he has made 12 Premier League appearances since moving from Anfield in January.

Jurgen Klopp is happy to let the former England defender leave on a permanent deal at the end of the season for a fee in the region of £15million.

Bournemouth are looking to sign Clyne permanently but, according to Goal, West Ham are equally keen to land the 28-year-old as they look for a long-term replacement for Pablo Zabaleta.

Clyne is said to be happy on the south coast but the London-born defender could be tempted by a return to the capital.

Goal says Liverpool will use Leicester’s signing of Portugal right-back Ricardo Pereira for £17.5million from Porto as a benchmark when valuing Clyne, who cost the reds £12.5million when he joined from Southampton in 2015.
