West Ham table offer for unsettled Liverpool man as Klopp considers what to do with ‘talented’ star

Liverpool Manager Jurgen Klopp talks with Fabio Carvalho of Liverpool during the warm up. Premier League match, Liverpool v Brighton & Hove Albion at Anfield in Liverpool on Saturday 1st October 2022.

West Ham have submitted a loan offer to Liverpool for Fabio Carvalho as Jurgen Klopp considers what to do with the unsettled star.

While the 20-year-old has shown some flashes of quality, he hasn’t had the easiest of debut seasons at Anfield.

The midfielder only started in four Premier League matches and struggled to maintain a regular spot in the starting 11.

Plenty of clubs have expressed an interest in the midfielder and West Ham have now made their move for the attacking midfielder.

It has been reported that Carvalho is unhappy with his current situation at Anfield and is weighing up his options for next season.

According to Football Insider, the Hammers have submitted a loan offer to take Carvalho for the season.

Liverpool themselves are yet to decide whether to sanction a loan deal or sell him permanently this summer with a buy-back option.

RB Leipzig have already tabled a £10m offer and could be prepared to offer a higher amount to sign him this summer.

Klopp himself has admitted that it wasn’t an easy first season for Carvalho as he searches for the best solution.

“No player has impressed me more than Fabio, that’s the truth. Because this kind of very talented boy came here with big dreams and big expectations, it was OK in the beginning but didn’t work out in the end.

“His work ethic will give him a fantastic career. He trained while getting nothing. For players, there’s only one present you have each week: you line me up, if not that then take me in the squad. That’s my only chance to satisfy a player.

“If I don’t do that, it’s about how the player reacts – and his reactions, in a row, I never saw it before. Unbelievable. I’m not sure if he goes on loan or whatever, if we keep him, we will see.”

Klopp clearly sees the potential in Carvalho, but perhaps feels as if he isn’t yet ready for a regular starting spot.

With the addition of Alexis Mac Allister this summer, Carvalho’s chances of securing a starting spot look even slimmer.

A loan move to West Ham could be best for all parties, although Liverpool could yet be tempted by RB Leipzig’s offer.
