Wigan have problems up front for Saturday’s visit of Tony Pulis’ Potters.
Victor Moses is likely to be out for three months after dislocating his shoulder in the Carling Cup loss to Arsenal on Tuesday.
Hugo Rodallega is still suspended and Franco di Santo (ankle) is rated 50-50, but manager Roberto Martinez is at least hopeful Mauro Boselli (knee) will be fit.
Club captain Gary Caldwell (thigh) could also be fit but fellow defender Emmerson Boyce (hamstring) is unlikely to feature despite making good progress.
Stoke will be without Marc Wilson for the clash. Wilson picked up his fifth booking of the season on Saturday in the Potters’ 1-1 draw with Manchester City and will serve a one-match ban.
Jermaine Pennant and Andy Wilkinson had to come off in the City game due to hamstring and knee problems respectively and will both undergo late fitness tests.
