Fabrizio Romano says Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha has received a contract offer from a Serie A club, though a deal ‘will not be easy’ to complete.

Zaha is out of contract at the end of June and is attracting interest from a host of European clubs.

At the age of 30, he will be looking for one final long-term contract at the highest level and is believed to be keen to take on a new challenge.

The three-time Crystal Palace Player of the Year had his fair share of injuries in 2022/23 and could only manage 27 appearances in the Premier League, though this does not appear to have put off suitors.

The Eagles are obviously keen to agree a new deal with Zaha and have even offered him a long-term contract worth £42million, according to talkSPORT.

This was reported on May 17, which indicates the 30-year-old does not wish to remain at Selhurst Park.

A move to a Champions League side could be very appealing and he has now been approached by Lazio, who will be in Europe’s premier competition in 23/24 after finishing second in Serie A.

This is according to Fabrizio Romano, who says the Ivorian international ‘has many proposals’ on the table ‘so will assess his options soon’.

Romano says it is ‘not an easy deal’ to strike but ‘negotiations have taken place’ between Zaha and Lazio.

Also, Zaha is apparently ‘not in a rush’ to decide where his future lies.

The Italian club’s arch-rivals AS Roma reportedly tried to sign the former Manchester United player last summer.

Roma did not make an official bid to sign Zaha but Romano claimed last July that he is ‘really appreciated’ by the club’s hierarchy and manager Jose Mourinho.

Zaha is on his stag do this weekend, which means Lazio have approached him at the ‘worst possible time’, The Sun has interestingly claimed.

The Crystal Palace legend has been strongly linked with a move for Arsenal for what feels like an absolute eternity.

If he was going to make the move to the Emirates, you have to feel it would have happened by now.

There is now interest from Saudi Arabia; specifically Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr.

It is unclear who Palace will look to replace such an influential player with, but they are expected to have funds to do so.

They do have Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise at their disposal but will surely look to replace Zaha if he does opt to leave.
