Wolves attacker Traore stalling over new contract

Wolves forward Adama Traore is stalling over a new contract amid links of a move away from the club, according to reports.

The Spaniard joined Wolves in August 2018 from Middlesbrough in a deal worth around £18m. He has been at the club for just over two years.

In that time he has made 99 appearances for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side in all competitions. During his first two years, he was an ever-present for the Premier League side.

He has been a thorn in team’s sides alongside Raul Jimenez in the Wolves attack. But this season, he has fallen down the pecking order.

Pedro Neto and Daniel Podence have established themselves as Wolves’ first-choice wide men this term. Traore has only made three Premier League starts so far this season.

Prior to the start of this season, Traore was expected to sign a new contract with the club. But this has dragged on and he is yet to put pen-to-paper on a new deal.

Goal have reported that his limited first-team opportunities have led to him stalling over a new contract. Traore’s current deal expires in 2023.

The attacker’s lack of action this term has led to him being linked with moves away. Liverpool, Manchester City and Barcelona are some of the clubs who have reportedly shown interest in him.
