Premier League trio ‘interested’ in West Ham defender

West Ham defender Issa Diop is being targeted by several Premier League clubs, according to reports.
Diop, 24, was signed from Toulouse for £25million in 2018 and impressed in his debut campaign, attracting interest from Manchester United.
However, he has since fallen out of favour under David Moyes, starting only 17 matches across all competitions last season.

The Frenchman is under contract until 2023, and while West Ham are thought to be against a loan move for the player, a large permanent offer would test their resolve.
According to Foot Mercato, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Southampton and Crystal Palace are all considering a swoop for the defender, with each side having conceded 50+ goals in the Premier League last season.
Wolves, in particular, looked a far cry from their usual, dogged selves, and new head coach Bruno Lage is said to be keen on bolstering their defensive options.
After the departure of goalkeeper Rui Patricio, they have already sought out his replacement in Jose Sa, and have so far been one of the most active Premier League clubs in the transfer market, signing Francisco Trincao on loan from Barcelona and Rayan Ait-Nouri from Angers.
They are looking to rebuild after a disappointing campaign last season, which saw them drop from 7th to 13th and led to the departure of Nuno Espirito Santo.
The Portuguese has joined Tottenham Hotspur, where he will link up with former Wolves right-back Matt Doherty.
Speaking to the official Spurs website, Doherty said of Nuno’s appointment: “I’ve said over the years that I’ve nothing but praise for Nuno, he’s a world-class coach and his backroom staff are world-class as well, and I maintain that, that doesn’t change and we’re very fortunate to have him here.
“We had a good relationship at Wolves. He had an immediate impact, winning the league (Championship) with 99 points in the first season and then going back-to-back seventh place finishes and getting into Europe.
“He’s had nothing but success so far in England and with the set-up, facilities and quality of player we have here, I’m sure it will be successful for him.”
