Wright finding it hard to stick up for his ‘friend’ Pardew
Ian Wright fears for Alan Pardew’s job if Crystal Palace lose to Swansea in the Premier League on Saturday.
Some reports have suggested that Palace must win against the Swans if Pardew has any chance of keeping his job after a poor run of results.
The Londoners have lost five games on the trot and find themselves desperately hovering above the relegation zone.
And Wright thinks with Sam Allardyce available as a replacement, the pressure could be too great for Pardew.
“If Palace lose to Swansea, we will hear some serious rumblings,” Wright told Shaun Custis during the Sunsport podcast.
“They’ve got to win this one. When you’ve got Sam Allardyce out of work, the pressure mounts.
“Whatever Palace fans might think of Sam, they do not want to go down. I’d be absolutely gutted for Pards if he got the sack because he’s my friend but how can I defend how long this has been going on for Palace?”
