Ashley Young says he and Dele Alli “had a laugh” over their digs at one another back in October.
Young and Alli clashed during Manchester United’s 1-0 win over Tottenham last year, with the latter reportedly imploring the former to “retire with a zimmerframe”.
United defender Young hit back by telling Alli to ‘let me know when you win the Prem’, before posting a message on his Instagram after the victory declaring that ‘Talk is cheap’.
The 32-year-old insists their differences were put to one side long ago, with both a part of Gareth Southgate’s 23-man England squad for the World Cup this summer.
“We had a laugh and a joke about it, before, in the previous squad,” he said.
“A lot of people say he has to take it out of his game, but I think he’s one of those players that plays on the edge. He winds people up. That’s just him.
“He’s a fantastic talent and, for me, to have him in the squad is unbelievable. Everyone in the squad is a winner and he is definitely one of them.”
