Young Man City star Foden attracting European interest – report

Manchester City youngster Phil Foden is reportedly the subject of interest from Borussia Dortmund.

The Bundesliga giants are said to be looking to team England Under-21 star Foden with Jadon Sancho, although PSG and RB Leipzig are also monitoring his situation, according to the report in the Mail on Sunday.

Foden, 18, has been at City since the age of six and is still expected to sign a new contract with the club, with his current deal running out in 2020.

The level of interest in him on the continent is an indication of the Sancho affect, with Bundesliga and Ligue 1 clubs knowing that they can offer young English players better opportunities to play first-team football.

City boss Pep Guardiola has, however, repeatedly stressed that Foden will be integrated into the starting XI in time – with the youngster already being used as a sub three times in the Premier League this season.

Foden is also a big City fan and it seem highly unlikely that he would switch clubs at this stage of his career, especially with Guardiola involving him in the first team at such a young age.
