Young would rather leave in January than ‘disrespect’ Man Utd

Ashley Young would rather leave Manchester United in January than leave for nothing at the end of the season, according to reports.

The 34-year-old has played over 250 times for the Red Devils after joining in 2011 from Aston Villa for a reported fee of £15million.

Young has six months left on his contract at United and has reportedly been offered a one-year extension on his current deal by the club, which he apparently turned down.

There were reports earlier this month that Young had already said ‘yes’ to Inter Milan over a possible move with Antonio Conte prepared to offer him an 18-month deal.

And now Sky Sports bring us an update on the situation by saying Serie A side Inter ‘remain interested’ in the former Watford man.

Man Utd are ‘reluctant’ to see Young leave before the end of the season but the full-back thinks it would be ‘disrespectful’ to the Red Devils if he left on a free at the end of the campaign.

Sky Sports adds that Young would ‘rather leave this month’ than in the summer.
