Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has provided an update on the situation of playmaker Isco, who continues to be linked with a Premier League move.
The Spain international has played eight times in the league this season but has failed to register a goal or assist.
It’s thought that Isco wants to leave Real to become an important player elsewhere.
Zidane, speaking ahead of his team’s clash against Athletic Bilbao tomorrow, had this to say: “Isco is going to be an important player.
“It is true that he is not playing much and I am not giving him the opportunity to show the player that he is.
“I feel sorry for my players and I will never forget what I have experienced with them.
“He has to work hard to get another chance. We can’t control what is being said [in the media].”
Isco was first linked with a move to Everton in October following the success of former Real player James Rodriguez.
Arsenal, meanwhile, are said to be considering an initial loan move in January ahead of a permanent one in the summer.
The Gunners could probably do with a player like Isco too, considering their poor form in the Premier League this season.
Mikel Arteta remains without Mesut Ozil after the player was left out of his squad for the campaign.
Isco could emerge as a slightly cheaper option, with the Spaniard certainly wanting to prove himself.
A bond with compatriot Arteta could be the perfect situation for him to hit the high standards that saw him labelled as one of the top youngsters in the world years ago.
Arsenal and Everton could tussle in the January window to sign a want away Real Madrid player.
