Alaska doesn't have a regulated online casino market, and there's been zero movement toward changing that anytime soon. But Alaska sweepstakes casinos have filled that gap with a model built on two virtual currencies that won’t cost you a cent.
This piece looks at some of the most popular sweepstakes casinos available including McLuck, Stake.us, Crown Coins Casino and MegaBonanza across game depth, bonuses, playing on mobile and prize redemptions. All four of these sites are fighting over eligible Alaska residents right now, by giving out free virtual currency like it’s going out of fashion.

How Alaska sweepstakes casinos work
Every name on this list includes Alaska as an available state for its sweepstakes casino. They work on two virtual currencies that can sometimes confuse people, so here's how it all works.
The virtual currencies and why one of them is basically Monopoly money
Gold Coins (GC) are entertainment credits that have zero redemption value, which is basically a fancy way of saying you can play them all day long and have nothing to show for the brain-rotting hours you just spent spinning. Some sites choose to use their own branded version, but it's the same concept with just a different name. Note that you can drop some hard cash on optional GC bundles, but doing so is never required. There are always freebies giving out fistfulls of free GC left and right.
Sweepstakes Coins (SC) are the virtual currency used in sweepstakes mode, where eligible SC winnings can be redeemed for prizes after meeting the relevant redemption requirements. You can collect more SC through free methods like welcome offers, daily bonuses, social media giveaways, loyalty programs and alternative method of entry (AMOE) if you can be bothered going to the Post Office to get a stamp. GC purchases are always optional, but sometimes SC are awarded as a bonus with them too.
Get your ID sorted before your SC starts piling up
Before SC can be redeemed for prizes, you'll need to verify your identity with your legal name, date of birth, address and government ID, along with meeting the other relevant redemption requirements like minimum playthrough requirements. The KYC process can feel a bit overkill, but it's a mandatory requirement so the site can confirm who you are.
So get it done the day you sign up because future you with 200 SC ready to redeem is going to be furious at past you for putting it off. You'll also need to allow geolocation when playing on a sweepstakes casino, and don't bother trying to use a VPN because it's never going to end well.
Pros and cons of Alaska sweepstakes casinos

The very very best sweeps casinos in Alaska
The sweepstakes casinos on this list were picked on availability in Alaska, game library depth, daily bonuses and redemption terms. And yes, obviously the welcome offer number that everyone scrolls straight to before reading a single word of the playthrough requirements.
🚫 Half of the market these days say they accept Alaska, and those half are lying
Every site has had its Alaska availability confirmed through its state listings. But you'll be surprised how many sweepstakes casinos will happily let you sign up, then hit you with a location block as soon as you try to request a prize redemption. So the terms on the landing page had to match before anything else was considered so you aren’t getting caught up in a level of clickbait that shouldn’t be possible in 2026.
🎲 Stop counting games and start looking at them
The game counts were confirmed by going through the game library rather than just trusting the number shown, because those figures are almost never the same. And a raw total without any context is pretty much useless. A site that boasts 3,000+ games sounds incredible until you open the library and realize 2,850 of them are the same slot reskinned with a different Egyptian theme and the table section only has 4 games in it. So sweepstakes casinos that had a decent spread across slots, live tables, originals and other formats scored well.
🎁 The welcome offer vanishes, but the daily SC doesn’t
The amount of free SC awarded with the welcome offer was assessed separately from the GC total. Because it's wild how many sweepstakes casinos try and bury a small SC figure inside a huge GC welcome offer thinking you won't notice. The daily login bonuses, loyalty programs and other free routes were all factored in too. The welcome bonus dries up quickly, so what comes after it is what determines how long your SC really lasts.
The four that survived the checklist
These four
online sweepstakes casinos with Sweeps Cash
bonuses pass the checklist above. They're all live in Alaska right now but they play differently enough from each other that you’re not going to feel like you’re stuck in groundhog day.
McLuck has more than 1,500 games and a four-tier McJackpot feature, which gives every slot session a progressive pot ticking in the background. The feature, theme and volatility filters save you from scrolling through pages of identically named slots wondering who keeps approving sequels nobody asked for. And if you've ever tried browsing an unfiltered sweepstakes casino, you'll know that’s a saving grace. The welcome offer for new players is currently 7,500 GC + 2.5 SC with an optional first purchase offer of 120,000 GC + 60 free SC for $29.99. There’s an eight-tier loyalty program that’s well-spaced out so you aren’t staring at your rank for months wondering why you even bother logging in.
Stake.us has 3,000+ games, which for a sweepstakes casino is pretty bonkers. The Stake Originals are the main reason to sign up to Stake.us though, because you'll find versions of plinko, mines and crash that are built in-house with each game resolving in seconds. That means you can get a result so fast you can play forty rounds during a commercial break.
The current welcome offer is 25,000 GC + 25 SC with the Stake.us bonus code FOOTY365. After that, you can pick up an extra 10,000 GC + 1 SC every 24 hours for logging in. Over 30 days, that's another 30 SC just for remembering your password.

Crown Coins Casino - Finally a sweepstakes casino with an app
Crown Coins Casino focuses its library on slots with more than 700 games and a small table section. But it's the official iOS app that makes it the best mobile-first option for players. The current welcome offer for new players is a tidy 100,000 Crown Coins (CC) + 2 SC with an optional first purchase offer of 1,500,000 CC + 75 free SC and a wheel spin with a chance to win another 100 SC for $24.99.
Crown Coins Casino has a low minimum redemption requirement of 50 SC after meeting the other relevant redemption requirements, meaning you’ll be hitting it while still spinning frog-themed reels on other sites.
