Everton are set to welcome former manager Frank Lampard and his Coventry City side to the Hill Dickinson Stadium in their final game before the international break.

The Toffees come into this game after back-to-back victories over Newcastle United, winning 3-1 in the Carabao Cup before recording a 1-0 win in the Premier League.

Coventry City won 3-1 at home to Sunderland in their last Premier League outing, and now sit 16th in the table with nine points.

Everton team news

Jack Grealish was omitted from the squad for both games against Newcastle due to a disciplinary issue, with reports suggesting he missed a training session.

David Moyes is yet to confirm if the on-loan Manchester City attacker will be brought back into the squad against Coventry City.

Tyrique George has started on the left wing in Grealish’s absence, and his shot led to Thierno Barry’s winner in the league meeting at St. James’ Park.

George was replaced by Hayden Hackney in stoppage time after picking up a knock, but he is expected to be available for selection.

Having missed their previous two games due to concussion protocols, Jarrad Branthwaite was back in the starting line-up on Monday night.

The centre-back was forced off in the 82nd minute, although Moyes has since confirmed that he was dealing with cramp rather than an injury.

Despite the short turnaround between games, Moyes could decide to name an unchanged starting line-up.

Coventry City team news

Frank Onyeka was a surprise absentee from the squad against Sunderland last weekend, with Lampard later revealing that he had picked up a groin injury in training.

The midfielder will now face a late fitness test before the trip to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Bobby Thomas also missed the 3-1 win over the Black Cats after sustaining a calf injury in the previous game against Fulham.

While Frank Lampard has played down the severity of the injury, it remains to be seen whether the defender will be involved against Everton.

They are already without two centre-backs, as Aurele Amenda also has a calf injury, and Luke Woolfenden has only just returned to individual training following a knee injury.

Haji Wright (quad) and Josh Eccles (ankle) are also making progress in their recoveries, but are not yet ready for selection.

Everton v Coventry City odds

Everton are 3/4 to go into the international break with an extra three points, while Coventry City are 4/1 to do likewise. The Draw is 3/1.

In the outright betting, Everton are 1/1 to finish the season in the top 10, and Coventry City are 5/6 second favourites to get relegated.

Everton v Coventry City prediction

Only Nottingham Forest (6) and Sunderland (7) have scored fewer Premier League goals this season than Everton and Coventry City, who both have nine goals across their opening nine games.

We’re expecting a low-scoring game at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and under 2.5 goals is available at 6/5.

There have been under 2.5 goals in seven of Everton’s nine Premier League games this season, with the only exceptions being 2-2 draws with Manchester United and Hull.

The Toffees have also kept four clean sheets in the Premier League this season, while all three of their league wins have been by either a 1-0 or a 2-0 scoreline.

Coventry City have only scored two away goals in the Premier League, so that all leads us to back another Everton win to nil at 11/5.

For the correct scoreline, 1-0 to the hosts is available at 8/1, and a 2-0 home victory can be backed at 17/2.

Seven of Everton’s nine Premier League goals this season have come in the second half, so Draw-Everton in the Half-Time Full-Time market is worth a bet at 4/1.

Following his winner at Newcastle, Barry now has four goals in his last five appearances in all competitions. He is also responsible for 44.4% of their Premier League goals this season.

The striker is 7/5 to score anytime, and 5/1 to be the first goalscorer for the second game in a row.

Football365's match prediction
In-form Thierno Barry to fire Everton to another three points
