Man Utd star questioned in Brighton win as Neville makes prediction over two Red Devils men
Man Utd goalkeeper Senne Lammens has been criticised for his role in Brighton’s opening goal as the Red Devils won 4-2 on Saturday.
The Red Devils raced into a three-goal lead inside the first 61 minutes at Old Trafford with Matheus Cunha, Casemiro and Bryan Mbeumo all on target.
Danny Welbeck got one back via a brilliant free-kick on 74 minutes before Charalampos Kostoulas scored in the second minute of injury time to increase the nervous energy around the ground.
However, Bryan Mbeumo grabbed his second goal of the game in the seventh minute of injury time to make the points safe and give Man Utd a third Premier League win in a row.
Ruben Amorim had been coming in for lots of criticism and there were even reports that he could face the sack if results didn’t improve.
Their three wins in a row have coincided with the Man Utd boss putting Lammens into his starting XI for his first three appearances of the season.
Lammens has come in for lots of praise but former England and Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson reckons the Belgian “could’ve done better” with Welbeck’s free-kick.
Robinson said on BBC Radio Five Live: “A wonderful free kick from Danny Welbeck!
“A great position about five yards outside the box, but there was a big Manchester United wall with a draft excluder beneath it, yet he still managed to get it up and down.
“There will be questions around whether the Manchester United goalkeeper could’ve done better with that one…”
Gary Neville reckons Cunha and Mbeumo “will win a lot of matches” for Man Utd after seeing them both score in the win over Brighton on Saturday.
Neville told Sky Sports: “With Cunha and Mbeumo, the risk of those signings was removed because in the sense they had played in the Premier League before and they had the hunger to deliver at a different level.

“Mbeumo looks like he belongs. He looks hungry and that he wants to score goals.
“Manchester United have something to build on. Cunha and Mbeumo will win a lot of matches for Manchester United.”
Fellow pundit Jamie Redknapp reckons Man Utd are capable of finishing in the top five of the Premier League after moving into fourth position on Saturday.
Redknapp added: “We can’t get carried away but there is no reason why this team can’t get in the top five [in the Premier League].
“They certainly have that kind of capability. But the manager, as he said, will be under no illusions. It can quite quickly go the other way.”
