Manchester United outcast Marcus Rashford reportedly had a ‘serious row’ with Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick after Tuesday’s 3-0 loss against Chelsea.

In the summer, Rashford secured a dream move to Barcelona as he joined the Spanish giants from Man Utd on loan with an option to buy for around £26m.

Barcelona decided to take a punt on Rashford after missing out on Nico Williams and Luis Diaz, while his versatility and return to form for Aston Villa last season were also in the forward’s favour.

And Rashford has surpassed all expectations at Barcelona this season and has had a more prominent role than initially expected. He has six goals and nine assists in 17 appearances for the La Liga giants this term.

However, Rashford started Tuesday’s Champions League group match against Chelsea on the bench as Flick preferred Robert Lewandowski, Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres.

Barcelona, who played all of the second half with ten men following Ronald Araujo’s red card, were easily beaten 3-0 by Chelsea and Rashford was pretty ineffective after replacing Torres.

This result leaves Barcelona 15th in the Champions League standings with two wins, one draw and two defeats, while they are second in La Liga after 13 matches.

In recent months, the consensus has been that the Spanish side are increasingly likely to sign Rashford permanently as a £26m deal would be a bargain given his current form.

But a report in Spain has taken the first opportunity to kick Rashford and Barcelona in a story that should be taken with a pinch of salt.

They claim that Flick and Rashford had a ‘serious row’ after the Chelsea match as the player and his representatives were unhappy to be bench, while the head coach hit out at him over his ‘lack of commitment’.

The same outlet claims Rashford’s permanent transfer to Barcelona is in doubt as he is ‘falling out of favour in the dressing room’ due to his ‘repeated acts of indiscipline’.

The report claims:

‘The striker has shown a lack of defensive commitment in several matches, a pattern that increases the pressure and tactical solidity of Barça. Flick’s patience is beginning to wear thin, and internal criticism has intensified.

‘The impact of these lapses extends far beyond the pitch. According to sources close to the club, Rashford has created tension in the dressing room, with some players feeling that the effort of others is not matched by the Briton’s attitude. Although he continues to receive playing time and opportunities, his image within Barça is being seriously damaged.’
