Ferdinand claims one Man Utd star will be ‘unplayable’ as summer signing to ‘become best in world’

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has backed one Red Devils star to be “unplayable”, while another player could “become the best in the world”.
On Sunday afternoon, Man Utd made a major statement as they picked up a deserved 2-1 win over arch-rivals Liverpool at Anfield.
Bryan Mbeumo scored in the opening couple of minutes and Man Utd had chances to extend their lead before the break.
Head coach Arne Slot threw the kitchen sink at Man Utd in the second half and Cody Gakpo equalised for the hosts in the 78th minute, though Harry Maguire headed home a late winner for Ruben Amorim‘s side.
To a man, Man Utd were superb as they were worthy of three points, with this victory leaving them only two points adrift of Liverpool in the Premier League table.
Summer signing Matheus Cunha had his best game for Man Utd to date against Liverpool and Ferdinand reckons he is “going to be almost unplayable at times”.
“I thought Matheus Cunha was magnificent especially in the second half when we needed someone to give us some time and relief,” Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel.

“I just think he’s a wonderful footballer and once he gets into full flow he’s going to be almost unplayable at times. He’s got that swagger about him, I love Cunha.”
Ferdinand also reserved praise for Mbeumo and Senne Lammens, with the goalkeeper lauded for his “dependable” showing.
“I’ve got to talk about Mbeumo’s performance… he’s been getting chances but hasn’t been that clinical,” Ferdinand added.
“This guy keeps getting into good positions. You’re going to get some luck eventually and he got that today.
“He just causes problems and unnerves defenders. Defenders never look comfortable against him.”

On Lammens, Ferdinand continued: “He pulled us out with one big save with his feet.
“He was dependable. His hands were really safe. He’s only played two games so I don’t want to get carried away but he was dependable, sure and assertive.
“Long may that continue because that instils confidence into the back-line.”
Former Club Brugge coach Hayk Milkon has also hailed Lammens, explaining why he could “become the best in the world”.
I was not surprised when I saw Manchester United had come calling. And to record his first clean sheet, I was really happy for him,” Milkon told the Manchester Evening News.
“Senne is a potential No.1 for the Red Devils – the Belgium national team.
“He got his chance, he took it, and we’re all really proud of him, but we knew it would happen. I believe he has all the capabilities to become the best in the world, so I wish him all the best. I’m sure he will have a very good career in England, and Manchester United should return to the big club they used to be.
“He will have a positive impact on that, for sure, and hopefully he will be Belgium’s first-choice goalkeeper soon. I believe he has the potential, the skillset and the personality to do that.”
